I've realised that school so completely takes over my life that it is somewhat pointless to think I could update this on a daily or even weekly basis..
It is such an all-consuming profession, teaching. I love my job, it comes with such an amazing privilege, I get to teach 28 children, some of whom experience very little love or emotional connection from their parents. With that privilege comes huge responsibility, it is my job to make sure they can read, write, count, add, takeaway, multiply and divide. That they can think and act independently and know right from wrong. No wonder it is so hard to switch off.
Think back to your primary school days, I bet you remember almost every teacher, for good and bad reasons. You spent a long time with each one. They were some of the first adults you spent time with outside of your family. The first that you trusted almost as much as, and sadly for some people - more than, your parents. Most of the children I teach this year, and next... will remember me forever. Not many people can say they have that kind of impact.
Anyway now for the pictures. It has been snowing on and off here, and we went out last weekend, the dog isn't keen - I don't think I would be if I was that small, but he requires exercise.. this is our trip to the country park..
It's all good fun until....
Inevitably, it all becomes a bit too much...
