On having a five year old (and a bun in the oven)

So today Scarlett turns5. Five whole years since our life was turned upside down by our beautiful, funny, smart... wonderful daughter.

She has become so grown up and independent since starting school in September. Life is full of new adventures and challenges; she faces most of them head on. I'm so proud of the little girl she has become. She's looking forward to her role as a big sister -  although I think sharing us with a newborn will be hard for her.. I'm looking forward to this summer when we will get to spend those last precious months together before we're "invaded"!

She stopped sucking her thumb 2 weeks ago today.. which means Gee is not the ever present part of our life he was when I posted last year.. According to Scarlett it was Gee telling her to suck her thumb all along... if only we'd known at the time!

So life continues, busy as ever..
